Christopher Hann, Music Director Christopher Hann - Musical Director

Christopher Hann

Musical Director

Christopher is both a professional tenor and choral conductor. He has been singing in choirs since he was eight years old, when he became a chorister at his local church on the Isle of Wight. From the age of sixteen to twenty four he was a member of The National Youth Choir of Great Britain. He is now in great demand as a professional consort singer. He currently sings with a number of professional ensembles including Polyphony, Ex Cathedra, Armonico Consort, Dunedin Consort, Cappella Nova, Ludus Baroque and Laudibus.

Christopher is also developing a reputation as an accomplished choral conductor, and joined Harpenden Music Makers in January 2012. He is currently studying for a Masters in Choral Conducting at The Royal Academy of Music with Patrick Russill and Paul Brough. During his time at The RAM he has had conducting master classes with David Hill, Jeremy Summerly and Andrew Carwood and worked with the Royal Academy’s own Chamber Choir, Royal Hollloway Chapel Choir, The BBC Singers, and The Cardinals Musick.

Whilst he was in Scotland, he was Musical Director of The Paisley Festival Chorus, The Kilbarchan Singers and a vocal octet called Dieci, who, in December of 2009, made it to the Grand Final of BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year. He has also conducted Glasgow University Chapel Choir, The RSAMD Chamber Choir, and The Ashover Festival Chorus.

He continues to work with Dieci, and is also now Musical Director of The Cappella Singers and The University of Westminster Choral Society.

David Noble

Assistant Musical Director / Accompanist

David Noble began playing the piano at the age of five, and took up the organ ten years later. He studied both instruments under Cyril Oldham ARCO, who was the Organist and Choirmaster of the Methodist Church in Harpenden from 1968 to 1976. He has held the position of organist at the Methodist Church since 1986 and was appointed as the accompanist of Harpenden Music Makers in 1975.

David's skills and sensitive playing as an accompanist are widely in demand and he has partnered a number of amateur and professional instrumentalists and singers.
